TendaBar Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VinTEK Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the TendaBar mobile application ("TendaBar" or the "App").

TendaBar is a cocktail and mocktail recipe app with AI-assisted ingredient substitutions, an AI custom drink creator, an AI bottle scanner, and an optional cloud backup of your personal drink data. By using TendaBar, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information (optional)

TendaBar can be used fully without an account. The full curated recipe library, search, favorites, custom drinks, and offline mode work without signing in — we issue you an anonymous Firebase user identifier (UID) on first launch so we can associate your local data with your device.

If you choose to sign in (required only to back up your data across devices, which is a Pro feature), we link your anonymous UID to:

Your Personal Drink Data

The data you create while using TendaBar is associated with your anonymous UID or signed-in account. Free users keep this data on their device only. Pro users who sign in can also back it up to the cloud and restore it on another device:

Photos are JPEG-compressed on your device before any cloud upload to minimize the size of your backup.

Age Verification & Mocktails Mode

Because TendaBar includes recipes for alcoholic drinks, we ask for your date of birth on first launch to confirm you are at least 21. Your date of birth is stored only on your device in TendaBar's local database; it is never transmitted to our servers. If you sign in to enable cloud backup, the date of birth value is included in the backup so it follows you to a new device — we still cannot see it ourselves, because Firestore security rules restrict access to your own UID.

If you decline to confirm your age, TendaBar automatically switches to Mocktails Mode, which hides every alcoholic recipe. You can also choose Mocktails Mode at any time regardless of age. Sober-curious, pregnant, designated drivers — mocktails get equal billing.

Curated Recipes (Content You Don't Own)

The curated recipe library, recipe images, mixing instructions, and tips shipped with TendaBar are created by VinTEK Solutions (and partially generated and curated using AI). You do not author this content and it is not private to you. Your interactions with it (favorites, journal entries, custom variations) are yours.

Camera, Microphone, Location, Contacts

TendaBar does not access your device location, microphone, or contacts. The app may request access to your photo library or camera only when you explicitly choose to:

Usage & Crash Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (app opens, feature usage, crash reports) via Firebase Analytics to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally, and no advertising identifier is collected.

Payment Information

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS), with subscription state managed via RevenueCat. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers or payment account details.

TendaBar's AI-assisted features use Google's Gemini models. When you invoke an AI feature, we send only the minimum input needed to generate a useful result:

We do not send your identity, your full bar inventory (unless you explicitly include items in the prompt), your favorites, your journal entries, or any other personal data to the AI provider. Generated suggestions are shown to you for review and saved only if you explicitly save them. Google's handling of AI requests is governed by Google Cloud's Privacy Notice. We do not use your drink data, photos, or prompts to train AI models, and we do not allow Google to do so either.

AI features are subject to per-user quotas (3 free substitutions and 1 free AI-generated drink for non-Pro users); Pro users get unlimited use. See tendabar.html for current limits.

4. Buy a Friend a Round (Gift Mechanic)

Pro subscribers can send a "Round" — a referral code that grants a friend 30 days of Pro access. Sending or redeeming a code creates a record in our database with:

5. Cloud Backup (Pro only)

If you are a Pro subscriber and sign in with Apple or Google, TendaBar will back up your personal drink data to your private cloud space so it follows you to any device on the same account. Backup is fully optional — sign-out stops it and removes the cross-device sync; your local data is unaffected.

What we back up:

Where it's stored: Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (text) and Firebase Storage (photos), under a folder keyed to your Firebase UID. Security rules enforce that only you can read or write data in that folder — not other users, not VinTEK staff (we cannot read your data from the Firebase console without elevating to admin, and we do not do so absent a debugging request from you).

Conflict resolution: If you edit the same record on two devices while offline, the most recently modified version wins on next sync.

What we do NOT back up:

Stopping backup: Sign out from Profile → Sign out at any time. The cross-device sync stops immediately; the cloud copy of your data remains until you request deletion. To delete the cloud copy, see Section 8.

Upon account deletion, all your TendaBar data is permanently removed from our cloud services within 30 days. RevenueCat subscription records may be retained separately by RevenueCat per their policy.

TendaBar is intended for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. The mocktail-only mode is available for any user, but the App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
