ASVAB Prep Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VinTEK Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ASVAB Prep mobile application ("ASVAB Prep" or the "App").

ASVAB Prep is a military test-prep study tool for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). It is not affiliated with the United States Armed Forces, the Department of Defense, or any branch of the US military.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in to ASVAB Prep, we collect:

• Email address (used as your login identifier)
• Display name (optional)
• Authentication credentials managed by Firebase Authentication

You can use the app as a guest without signing in; in that case only on-device data is stored.

Study Data & Preferences

ASVAB Prep stores the information needed to tailor your prep experience:

• Selected branch of service (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, or Coast Guard)
• Selected career path (enlisted, officer, warrant)
• Dream sheet — the military job codes you select as targets
• Target AFQT score
• Per-subtest practice stats (questions attempted, accuracy, streak)
• Practice session history, bookmarks, and missed-question queues
• Flashcard review history
• Full-length test results (section scores, AFQT estimate, composite line scores)
• Tutorial completion flags

Content You Don't Own

The practice questions, lesson content, flashcards, and military job catalog shipped with ASVAB Prep are created by VinTEK Solutions (and partially generated and curated using AI). You do not author this content and it is not private to you. Your interactions with it (which questions you answered, which you bookmarked, etc.) are yours.

Location, Camera, Microphone, Contacts

ASVAB Prep does not access your device location, camera, microphone, photo library, or contacts. The app does not need any of these permissions.

Usage & Crash Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (app opens, feature usage, crash reports) via Firebase to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Payment Information

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers or payment account details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide personalized study recommendations and dream-sheet targeting
• Track your progress per subtest and across practice sessions
• Sync your study data across devices when you are signed in
• Restore your progress if you reinstall or switch phones
• Track your subscription status and gate premium features accordingly
• Improve and debug the app via crash reports and anonymized usage data
• Respond to support requests you send us

3. Affiliation & Accuracy Disclaimer

ASVAB Prep is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by:

• The United States Department of Defense
• The United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, or Coast Guard
• Any military recruiting organization
• The official ASVAB program or the USMEPCOM

Composite score minimums, job descriptions, and qualification requirements are provided for educational purposes. Actual qualification standards and scores are determined solely by the relevant military branch and may change at any time. Always verify requirements with a recruiter.

4. Third-Party Services

ASVAB Prep integrates with the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — Account sign-in. Privacy
• Cloud Firestore (Google) — Encrypted cloud storage for your study data.
• Firebase Storage (Google) — Encrypted storage for image assets shipped with practice questions.
• Firebase Analytics (Google) — Anonymized usage analytics to improve the app. No advertising ID is collected. Privacy
• Google Identity Services — Powers "Continue with Google" sign-in. We receive your name and email only. Privacy
• Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — In-app purchases and subscriptions.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers using encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). We use:

• Firestore security rules scoped to your user ID — no other user can read or write your data
• Authentication-based access controls on all requests
• Encrypted data transmission between your device and our servers
• Local device storage (SQLDelight) for offline study access, accessible only to the ASVAB Prep app on your device

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time:

• Clear individual practice sessions, bookmarks, or dream-sheet entries in-app
• Reset all study progress from the Settings screen
• Delete your entire account and all associated cloud data by contacting us at vintek615@gmail.com

Upon account deletion, all your ASVAB Prep data is permanently removed from our cloud services within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

ASVAB Prep may be used by high school students preparing for the ASVAB, including those in JROTC or Career Exploration Program cohorts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under 18 should have a parent or guardian review this policy. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your study history in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for data processing

9. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties — ever
• We do not serve advertisements in ASVAB Prep
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not share your data with data brokers
• We do not share your study data with recruiters, the military, or any government agency
• We do not use your study history to train AI models

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be announced in the app. Continued use of ASVAB Prep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
